The campaign spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Kenneth Okonkwo, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election.

Okonkwo, who spoke during an interview with Symfoni TV, declared that Tinubu’s tenure would come to an end after the 2027 election, insisting that the path had been cleared for Atiku to emerge victorious.

The Nollywood actor-turned-politician also described the Tinubu administration as the worst in Nigeria’s history.

Speaking about the chances of the President securing another term in office, Okonkwo said Tinubu would not return to the Presidency after the 2027 election.

He maintained that the opposition was better positioned now to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress, noting that Atiku had a clear path to victory.

According to him, the political situation ahead of the 2027 poll was different from what obtained during the 2023 general elections.

Okonkwo recalled that Atiku’s campaign had no sitting governor during the 2023 election but still performed strongly across the country.

The ADC chieftain argued that Tinubu would struggle to win states in 2027 if the election was conducted without manipulation.

He said the President performed worse than the opposition during the 2023 campaign despite having the backing and structures of the ruling party.

“When we campaigned for the 2023 general elections, we had no governor. We had nothing, and Tinubu did not win more states than us.

“Now that he is the worst President Nigeria has ever had, do you think he will win any state without rigging? Tinubu will not win any state. So the path to victory is very clear. And by the grace of God, we will win,” he said.

Okonkwo’s comments come as political parties and politicians begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The ADC campaign spokesperson expressed confidence that Atiku would defeat Tinubu if the election was free and fair.

He argued that Nigerians would reject the President at the polls because of what he described as the poor performance of the current administration.

The former actor further urged Nigerians to look beyond political affiliations and judge the government based on its performance.
