Anambra Election: Soludo’s Win a Mandate for Transparency, Accountability – Umahi
The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has congratulated Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear endorsement of his leadership and developmental strides over the past four years.
In a statement issued on Monday, Umahi said Soludo’s triumph at the November 8, 2025 governorship election was rooted in the trust and confidence the people of Anambra have in his administration.
“Your Excellency, your resounding victory on the polls of the 8th day of November 2025 underpines the implicit confidence of the good people of Anambra State in your progressive leadership,” he said.
Umahi described the re-election as a renewed mandate that places greater responsibility on Soludo to continue steering the state toward sustainable development.
According to him, the governor’s performance in office has already repositioned the state on a stronger economic path.
“This renewed social contract is a mandate for you to continue to advance the cause of development that is anchored on transparency and accountability,” Umahi noted.
He said the visible improvements in Anambra’s economic indicators reflect Soludo’s dedication to meaningful governance.
“You have done very well in changing the developmental trajectory of Anambra State. The newly emerging indices of economic growth and development in Anambra State serve as indicators that demonstrate your commitment to the progress and prosperity of Anambra State.”
The Works Minister commended Soludo for his calm and mature conduct during and after the election, praising what he called the governor’s “standards of magnanimity and sense of humility.”
He encouraged the governor to stay focused on delivering policies that broaden economic inclusiveness and strengthen the state’s standing among Nigeria’s subnational economies.
“I urge you not to relent in delivering inclusive leadership and championing progressive policies that will place the state on the list of the strongest economies of Nigeria’s sub-nationals. I trust you can do it.”
Umahi concluded his message with warm regards on behalf of his family and the Federal Ministry of Works.
“Once more, congratulations, and please accept always the assurances of the esteemed regards and best wishes of my family, the management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works.”
Soludo, who swept all 21 local government areas in the off-cycle poll, will begin his second term amid expectations for further reforms and infrastructural consolidation in the state.
