BBNaija’s Phyna Accuses Dangote Group of Negligence Over Sister’s Death, Burial

Former Big Brother Naija winner (BBNaija) , Phyna, has accused the Dangote Group of negligence and insensitivity in the handling of issues surrounding the death and burial of her sister, Ruth Otabor.
Phyna, who took to Instagram to express her grievances, alleged that her sister’s death was not only tragic but “calculated and planned,” and faulted the company for failing to fully cover medical and burial expenses as earlier promised.
According to her, while the company settled hospital charges at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, the family had to bear additional financial burdens for bills from Auchi to Irrua.
“The bills from Auchi down to Irrua were covered by the family; no refund has been made,” Phyna lamented.
She further alleged that on September 13, the day of her sister’s burial, efforts to reach Dangote Group officials proved futile.
“On the day of burial, Dangote groups did not pick up all calls made to them from us, as we were told the bills were not paid, but they claim it was,” she wrote.
The reality star also accused the company of impersonation, sharing a letter which she said Dangote Group drafted and sent to her father to sign, acknowledging receipt of burial expenses.

“This letter that was sent to my dad this evening is really paining me. @dangotegroup you killed my sister, did massive PR, gave the girl’s papa money for burial, then still by yourself wrote an acknowledgement letter impersonating my father and sent it to him to sign,” she alleged.
Phyna insisted that the company’s actions amounted to a deliberate attempt to control the narrative after the burial, rather than treating her family with transparency.
“Why would a company of that magnitude resort to such actions instead of treating my family with honesty and respect?” she questioned.
The Dangote Group has yet to issue an official response to Phyna’s allegations at the time of filing this report.
