BREAKING: PDP Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to Southern Nigeria
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made this known on Thursday while briefing journalists shortly after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
According to him, the decision followed the adoption of a report presented by the Zoning Committee, chaired by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri.
Ologunagba also revealed that the NEC resolved to maintain the existing formula for the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) ahead of the elective convention scheduled for November.
“NEC recommended that the North and South should retain their current NWC positions,” he said.
The party spokesman explained that since the office of the National Chairman is zoned to the North, the 2027 presidential ticket will go to the South.
“NEC also resolved that since the National Chairman of the party is zoned to the North, the PDP 2027 Presidential ticket is hereby zoned to the South,” Ologunagba stated.
