Ex-PDP Zonal Chairman, Owulo, Dumps Party for ADC

The immediate past Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue South Senatorial District, Chief Godwin Owulo, has resigned his membership of the party.
Owulo announced his resignation in a letter dated October 15, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Ukpa-Aniu-Ette Council Ward, in Oju Local Government Area of the state.
‘My decision is personal’
In the letter titled “Resignation”, the former PDP zonal leader said his decision to leave the party was based on personal reasons.
“This is to let you know that I, Hon. Chief Sir Godwin Owulo, the Immediate Past Zonal Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Benue South Senatorial District, this day, the 15th of Oct. 2025, hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party.

Following his exit, Chief Owulo confirmed that he has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), officially ending his long-standing affiliation with the PDP in Benue State.
The move, observers say, could further reshape the political dynamics in Benue South, where Owulo has been a key mobiliser and influential figure within the PDP structure.
A grassroots politician
Owulo, a respected political leader from Oju Local Government Area, has been instrumental in grassroots mobilisation for the PDP in the Benue South Senatorial District for several years.
He is regarded as one of the party’s notable organisers and has played visible roles in electoral campaigns across the zone.
While the former PDP zonal chairman did not elaborate on his reasons for leaving, party sources said his defection reflects ongoing internal realignments within the opposition party in the state.
