NAF Destroys Major Zamfara Terrorists’ Base, Neutralises Scores
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched precision airstrikes that destroyed a major terrorist stronghold in the Sauri camp, located in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation, conducted by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, took place on November 14, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, via X.
According to Ejodame, the air raid followed days of coordinated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions which exposed heavy terrorist activity in the area.
He said the criminals had been using the high-ground hideout as both a fortified defensive position and a logistics base.
“The strikes followed comprehensive intelligence and surveillance operations which confirmed significant terrorist activity and rustled livestock concealed on a high-ground hideout used by the criminals as both a defensive position and a logistics hub,” the statement read.
Ejodame explained that once the targets were confirmed, the Air Component “executed multiple coordinated strike passes on the identified locations, achieving direct hits that dislodged surviving terrorists attempting to flee into surrounding vegetation, where they were subsequently tracked and effectively engaged.”
The Air Force spokesman said the mission neutralised several terrorists, destroyed critical structures and crippled key supply channels.
“The successful mission resulted in the neutralisation of numerous terrorists and the destruction of critical structures and logistics points, significantly degrading the criminals’ operational capability in the area,” he added.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, was quoted as reaffirming the force’s resolve to maintain relentless pressure on terrorists across the North-West.
He stated that the NAF would “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”
NAF said the latest operation underscores the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists safe havens and support broader national security efforts to restore stability in Zamfara and beyond.
It was reported on November 10 that the NAF executed similar strikes on terrorist and bandit enclaves in Kwara, Borno, Katsina and other northern states.
Targets included ISWAP strongholds in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State; bandit camps in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, Kwara State; and Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Nigeria’s armed forces have intensified aerial operations in recent months amid rising insecurity in the North-West.
