New DStv Decoder Price List Emerges As MultiChoice Offers Price Cuts Ahead of Yuletide
In a bid to make premium entertainment more affordable for Nigerian households, MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a fresh reduction in the prices of its DStv and GOtv decoders, effective November 1, 2025.
The new pricing sees the DStv decoder drop from ₦10,000 to ₦7,900, while the GOtv decoder now sells for ₦6,500, representing a significant price cut for consumers.
This is the second major adjustment in less than six months, following an earlier reduction in June 2025 under the company’s “We’ve Got You” campaign.
At the time, the DStv decoder price was cut by 50 per cent, from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000, while GOtv’s decoder dropped from ₦18,600 to ₦9,900.
The latest move, according to the company, is part of its continued effort to enhance customer satisfaction and ease economic pressure on Nigerian households.
Explaining the rationale behind the new price structure, MultiChoice’s Executive Head of Marketing, Tope Oshunkeye, said the adjustment reaffirms the company’s commitment to affordability.
“This move ensures that entertainment remains within the reach of all Nigerians, especially as the festive season approaches,” Oshunkeye said.
She added that the offer presents an opportunity for more families to spend quality time together, enjoying local and international content without straining their finances.
Subscribers have welcomed the announcement, describing it as a timely intervention amid the rising cost of living.
Industry watchers also say the move could boost subscriber numbers ahead of the holiday period, as more Nigerians look for affordable ways to access sports, movies, and reality TV content.
The company, which operates DStv and GOtv platforms across Africa, reiterated that the new pricing aligns with its vision to make digital television accessible to everyone, regardless of income level.
“We remain dedicated to delivering world-class entertainment experiences that unite families while staying sensitive to prevailing economic realities,” MultiChoice added in its statement.
With this latest price reduction, MultiChoice appears poised to strengthen its customer base and reaffirm its leadership in Nigeria’s pay-TV market as the year draws to a close.
