No Right-Thinking Northerner Will Vote Tinubu in 2027 – Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will not enjoy the support of the North in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at a meeting of the PDP expanded caucus held in Dutse, Jigawa State, Lamido accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plunging Nigerians into deeper poverty, insecurity, and hardship.
Lamido launched a scathing attack on the ruling party, saying both the Buhari and Tinubu administrations had brought only pain and deceit to the people.
“We have been telling people Tinubu does not like the North, he doesn’t like anything that will help in developing the North. During his tenure as Governor of Lagos, Northerners were maltreated, attacked, and killed,” he said.
He alleged that Tinubu relied on financial inducement to win the 2023 elections.
“In 2023, both the ACF, Ohanaeze, Afenifere, and other meaningful associations didn’t support Tinubu. He used money to influence his support and win the election. We warned people not to entrust him. They refused to listen and are now paying the consequences of their actions,” Lamido stated.
The PDP stalwart insisted that no reasonable Northerner would back Tinubu’s reelection bid in 2027, regardless of political status.

“It’s quite unfortunate for any Northerner to support Tinubu’s reelection bid despite the position he is holding — minister, governor, House of Representatives, among others. I don’t think a right-thinking person from the North will support Tinubu’s reelection bid again in the coming 2027 election,” Lamido said.
Lamido urged Nigerians to put aside political, ethnic, and religious divisions to save the country from what he described as APC’s misrule.
“Nigeria will be rescued from his hands only if all citizens agree to unite themselves irrespective of political, religious, and regional differences,” he said.
He added that ongoing developments within the PDP suggested the party was on course to bounce back stronger ahead of 2027.
“With the current developments going on in the PDP, there is a possibility it will return to normal and will do anything possible to save the country,” Lamido assured.
