PDP: Anti-party Won't Be Tolerated - Damagum Threatens To Sanction Disloyal Members

The acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has issued a stern warning to party members, declaring that the PDP will no longer tolerate acts of disloyalty or anti-party behaviour.

Speaking through the party’s North-Central Vice Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, at the PDP FCT Secretariat on Wednesday, Damagum said the party’s disciplinary committee would move decisively against erring members ahead of the Federal Capital Territory Council elections.

Addressing candidates who received their official nominations, the PDP chieftain urged members to focus on internal unity and loyalty, warning that those found working with rival political parties would face sanctions.

“Any misbehaviour, the party will no longer tolerate it,” Damagum warned.

“If anyone feels they are not ready for this task, they should step aside immediately so that we can replace them without delay.”

He added, “If anyone is caught campaigning or organising with other political parties, it will be treated as anti-party activity and they will be disciplined.”

Damagum also assured PDP candidates in the forthcoming FCT elections that the party will ensure their votes are protected and their campaigns receive the necessary support.
