PDP Will Reclaim Presidency In 2027 Elections – Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed strong confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not only retain power in Oyo State beyond 2027 but also reclaim the presidency in the next general elections.
Makinde gave the assurance on Tuesday during the PDP State Congress held at the Basketball Arena of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, which drew ward and local government executives, ad-hoc delegates, and stakeholders from across the state’s 33 local government areas.
Addressing party faithful, Makinde commended the PDP for conducting its congresses at ward, local government, and state levels in a peaceful and transparent manner.
He noted that the harmony within the party was evidence of its internal strength and readiness to face the 2027 polls with confidence.
The governor congratulated the newly elected state executive members, charging them to redouble efforts toward securing PDP victories at all levels.
He also reassured party members who are yet to benefit directly from his administration that their loyalty and contributions had not been overlooked.
“I congratulate all of us in advance because in this party, no effort will be wasted. We will all share in the fruits of our labour,” Makinde declared, drawing applause from delegates.

Makinde emphasised that the ongoing congress exercise was not a routine party activity but a deliberate strategy to consolidate PDP’s dominance in Oyo State and beyond.
“The executives that emerge from this process have a clear mandate, to deliver PDP victories across all positions in 2027, from the presidency down to the councillorship level,” he said.
According to him, the party’s cohesion in Oyo State would serve as a template for PDP’s national resurgence.
