‘Reports Are Genuine’- Nwoko Addresses Regina Daniels Drug Allegations

Senator Ned Nwoko (APC, Delta North) has confirmed that the medical and toxicology reports circulating on social media about his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, are authentic.

The lawmaker’s communication team, in a detailed statement on Friday, said the documents originated from medical facilities that treated Regina and that the findings were consistent across institutions.

According to the statement, multiple health centres detected “dangerously high levels” of several substances in her system, and one of the reports showed she was rushed to hospital unconscious on October 3 after a drug overdose.

‘Hospitals Did Not Leak Reports, But They Are Authentic’

The statement noted that the rehabilitation centre at the centre of the controversy merely clarified that it was not responsible for the leak, but did not deny carrying out the assessments.

“A medical report concerning Regina Nwoko has been circulating online. The reports are genuine,” the statement said.

“The rehabilitation centre only clarified that it did not publish or circulate the documents, which is expected because medical institutions must protect client confidentiality. They did not deny authoring the reports; their concern is the leak itself.”

The senator’s office urged members of the public to read the full documents, insisting that they “explain the situation clearly and directly.”

The communication team listed substances that appeared in both the toxicology report and the Serenity Hospital findings.

According to the statement, the tests confirmed the presence of:

  • Marijuana
  • Cocaine
  • Morphine
  • Opiates at “extremely elevated levels”
  • Alcohol at a “critically dangerous level”

The statement described the combination of substances as posing “serious health risks” and reflective of a pattern of addiction requiring urgent intervention.

The senator’s office also alleged that some of Regina’s siblings repeatedly sabotaged her rehabilitation by supplying her with alcohol and marijuana, even while she was undergoing treatment.

“The reports also describe the challenges the rehabilitation centre faced, including persistent interference from her siblings,” the statement read.

“They openly stated that they do not see anything wrong in giving her alcohol and weed while she was undergoing rehabilitation. Their actions made effective treatment impossible.”

The lawmaker claimed this behaviour is one of the key reasons Regina has been unable to complete her rehabilitation programme.

Hospital Records Detail Emergency Overdose Episode

Senator Nwoko’s office also referenced what it described as “The Nizamiya Hospital report of October 3,” stating that Regina arrived at the facility unconscious after an overdose.

“These facts are documented, consistent, and deeply alarming,” the statement noted.

The senator defended his insistence on sustained therapy, saying it stems from concern for Regina’s life and the wellbeing of their two young sons.

“His determination comes from the clear reality that several of Regina’s recent decisions are not coming from a stable and healthy frame of mind,” the statement said.

“She is vulnerable, unprotected, and exposed to individuals who exploit her for personal gain. Her online behaviour reflects her current struggles.”

It added that Regina has become more influenced by public reactions than by doctors or her husband.

Nwoko’s team said the senator would have preferred to handle the matter quietly, but the severity of the medical findings and the October 3 hospital emergency made secrecy impossible.

“Past attempts to help her privately did not succeed. Given the severity of the substances detected and the documented hospital emergency where she arrived unconscious, it is no longer an issue that can be handled quietly,” the statement said.

“It becomes a question of whether we must wait until Regina reaches a point of irreversible harm before encouraging her to stop substance abuse and commit to rehabilitation.”

‘She Needs Treatment, Not Enabling’

The senator’s office concluded by stressing that Regina needs professional help, not denial from those around her.

“The message remains clear. The reports are authentic. The hospitals and rehabilitation centres did not leak them. The findings speak for themselves. Regina needs consistent treatment, support, and protection, not interference and not enabling.”

It added that as long as his children remain young, Senator Nwoko will “continue doing everything within his responsibility to help restore her wellbeing and ensure future decisions are made with clarity.”
