Shallipopi, Davido Light Up Afro Nation 2025 Opening Night in Portugal

Afrobeats stars Shallipopi and Davido brought electrifying energy to the opening night of the Afro Nation 2025 festival, thrilling fans in Portugal with standout performances that lit up the coastal city of Portimão.
The three-day music event, which kicked off on Wednesday, celebrates Africa’s vibrant music and cultural heritage, drawing global audiences since its inception in 2019.
Shallipopi, known for his viral hit ‘Lahoo’, thrilled the crowd by bringing his siblings and fellow artists on stage during his performance. The dramatic entrance and emotional delivery were met with loud cheers from fans.
In a post shared on Afro Nation’s official page, organisers hailed his set, writing, “MONUMENTAL! @theycallmeshallipopi came to SCATTER the Portimao at #ANP2025!”
Not to be outdone, Nigerian megastar Davido delivered an energetic set, performing crowd favourites such as ‘If’, ‘Fall’, ‘Dami Duro’, and ‘Fia’, sending the audience into a frenzy.
The organisers celebrated the night on social media, posting, “ANP2025? OBO OUR HEADLINER!! @davido closed our day one of #ANP2025 with the biggest and BADDEST energy 001 would bring!”
The excitement continues Thursday with a much-anticipated performance from Grammy-winning singer Tems. On Friday, the festival will climax with performances from Burna Boy, South African dancer Kamo Mphela, French rapper Booba, and Jamaican star Dexta Daps.
