The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the recent surge in terrorist attacks across the country is being fuelled by internal saboteurs working against Nigeria’s security interests.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, claimed that certain individuals within the security and political space were aiding criminal networks by leaking classified information, disrupting operational structures, and deliberately weakening security efforts.

Oladejo argued that the pattern of recent attacks reflects insider collusion, noting what he described as:

Unusual precision in terrorists’ knowledge of troop movements,

Spikes in violence coinciding with politically sensitive periods.

“These are not random incidents. They reflect a disturbing level of betrayal,” he said.

He further accused unnamed political actors of amplifying terrorist propaganda and weaponising insecurity for political gains, warning that such actions were contributing to public panic.

The Lagos APC urged the Federal Government to unmask and prosecute individuals allegedly undermining national security from within security agencies and political structures.

It stated that only insiders could facilitate such “coordinated breaches,” and insisted that the government must act swiftly to preserve public confidence in the country’s security architecture.

The party reaffirmed its confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, saying his administration has adopted “a ruthless, intelligence-led strategy” aimed at dismantling terrorist networks nationwide.

It also commended the Armed Forces for their resilience despite the challenges, describing ongoing acts of sabotage as the work of “a few bad eggs.”

Oladejo issued a stern warning to individuals allegedly aiding or abetting terrorist activities, stressing that they would soon be exposed.

“Nigeria will not be brought to its knees to satisfy the ambitions of saboteurs or external interests,” he said, expressing optimism that the nation would ultimately overcome its current security threats.

The statement comes amid heightened national tension following multiple attacks in Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue States, which have reignited calls for sweeping reforms within Nigeria’s security agencies.
