‘We Have Moved On’ – Aisha Yesufu Speaks On Peter Obi’s 2027 Presidential Bid
Activist and member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Aisha Yesufu, has urged her supporters to remain focused on ensuring the victory of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the 2027 election.
Yesufu made the call in a message to her supporters on Thursday, shortly after losing out in the NDC primary for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat.
The activist, who is known as a staunch supporter of Peter Obi, said her supporters should ignore conversations that do not contribute to the goal of getting the former Anambra State governor elected and sworn in as president.
In a post on 𝕏, Yesufu said the priority should be the 2027 presidential election and not issues capable of distracting the movement.
She wrote, “My dear supporters, remember, we have moved on and focused on the bigger picture.
“Any conversation that is not about the 2027 presidential election and how to get Peter Obi @PeterObi elected and sworn into office, please ignore.
“After the 2027 General Elections we will have the luxury to respond if it is worth our time. For now we will continue with our tunnel vision on the presidential election.”
The activist has been one of Obi’s prominent supporters, consistently using her platform to canvass support for his presidential ambition.
Yesufu recently lost the NDC primary for the FCT senatorial ticket.
Despite the setback, she maintained that the focus of her political movement remained Obi’s presidential bid.
Yesufu said her camp would maintain what she described as “tunnel vision” on the presidential election until after the polls.
She urged her supporters to channel their energy toward mobilisation, voter engagement and the ultimate goal of ensuring Obi’s victory and inauguration.
