‘Your Silence Is Unfair’ – Emeka Rollas Calls Out Senior Actors Over Regina Daniels Crisis
The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has publicly called out senior Nollywood figures who he says witnessed Regina Daniels’ alleged substance abuse but chose to remain silent.
Rollas made the revelation in a statement released on his Instagram page, saying he was compelled to address what he described as “many allegations, misconceptions, and unnecessary accusations” linked to the ongoing crisis involving the actress, her husband Senator Ned Nwoko, and her mother, Rita Daniels.
He noted that Ned Nwoko serves as Chairman of the AGN Board of Patrons, while Regina and her mother are also members, a development that has placed pressure on him to respond.
‘I Must Speak the Truth Clearly and Responsibly’
Explaining why he finally decided to speak, Rollas said he owed the truth “to myself, to the Guild and to the public,” adding that several Nollywood veterans were withholding important information.
He specifically named Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, and Chinyere Wilfred as those who had firsthand knowledge of Regina Daniels’ alleged behaviour on recent film sets.
“For years, the Board of Trustees has allowed me to stand at the frontline of battles, while they protect their reputations from behind,” he said.
“Many senior colleagues know the truth surrounding recent events, yet they have remained silent.”
Rollas accused the named actors of witnessing the actress’ alleged substance abuse during their last production together.
“I am calling on those who were present at the last series shoot and fully aware of what is happening. Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji. You were all on set during the last production in question. You saw things firsthand regarding Regina, and we all know she needs help,” he said.
He said their silence had left him unfairly exposed.
“Your silence is unfair, and it leaves me exposed to attacks for matters I did not create,” he added.
The AGN President also referenced a conversation with Senator Nwoko during preparations for a Guild roundtable meeting in South Africa.
According to him, the senator conditioned Regina’s participation on one requirement.
“While we were planning our roundtable meeting in South Africa, Senator Nwoko called me and gave me a condition that he would only allow Regina to travel if I promised she wouldn’t travel through Lagos,” Rollas said.
“This is a fact, and I state it because it has been twisted against me repeatedly.”
Rollas said he decided to speak out because the silence of those who know the truth has worsened the controversy and left him at the centre of public attacks.
He urged the actors involved to step forward and speak honestly for the sake of the Guild and the wellbeing of Regina Daniels.
