Okpebholo Replaces Obaseki, Sworn-In As Edo State Governor

Monday Okpebholo was officially sworn in as the governor of Edo State on Tuesday.
This signals the conclusion of eight years of leadership by Godwin Obaseki.
The event occurred on Tuesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the capital of the state, just two months following the All Progressives Congress (APC) securing the nomination for the Dennis Osadebay House.
Okpebholo received his oath of office with his chosen deputy, Dennis Idahosa.
Also, Dennis Idahosa was sworn in as Deputy Governor of Edo State.
The ceremony was attended by some dignitaries including the Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo among others.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima led the Federal Government delegation at the inauguration ceremony.

He was joined by several governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, and Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto.
The event also featured the attendance of the APC’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, along with his predecessor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
In front of a large audience and under tight security, Okpebholo, accompanied by his two daughters, took the oath of office and allegiance at 1:00 p.m., administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa.
Before this, Dennis Idahosa, with his wife by his side, took the podium to be sworn in as the Deputy Governor of the state.
After the oath-taking ceremony, the governor conducted an inspection of the guard of honour and the parade performed by officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police.
