2027: It Won’t Be Business As Usual – ADC Declares As Coalition Unveils Agenda

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) declared on Wednesday that its newly established coalition with notable Nigerian politicians signifies a significant shift from conventional politics, asserting that the alliance aims to restore Nigeria through intentional leadership.
In a strongly articulated statement shared on its official social media platforms, the party indicated that this coalition represents more than just a realignment of parties; it is a “gathering of minds dedicated to genuine change.”
Earlier reports indicated that the entire leadership of the ADC across all states has officially resigned to enable the transition of the party’s structure to the 2027 opposition coalition.
The outgoing National Chairman of the ADC, Ralph O. Nwosu, made this announcement on Wednesday during an expanded meeting at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
Nevertheless, in its most recent post, which included images from the official launch of the coalition earlier on Wednesday, the ADC highlighted unity, purpose, and governance centered on the people as the foundational elements of its movement.
“We’re not here to play politics. We’re here to build a future,” the statement read.
“ADC Coalition is more than a political movement; it’s a gathering of minds committed to real change. We ask the hard questions. We build real solutions. We’re not moved by hype, we’re moved by purpose.

“Coalition of Unity. Not a party. A people. Let’s reason. Let’s rise. Let’s rebuild,” the party declared.
The unveiling occurs against a backdrop of increasing discontent with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and renewed demands for a credible political alternative in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition has brought together prominent figures from across Nigeria’s political landscape, a development that observers characterize as the most formidable opposition front since 2015.
Among the attendees at the unveiling event held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja were: former Senate President David Mark, former Governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, former Governor of Sokoto State Aminu Tambuwal, former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, former Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung, Senator Dino Melaye, media personality Dele Momodu, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Senator Ireti Kingibe (Labour Party), ex-Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha, and former Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (retd.).
The emergence of the coalition has heightened speculation that a broad opposition front may be gearing up to contest President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid in 2027.
While detractors have labeled it a mere rebranding of well-known political figures, the ADC asserts that its mission extends beyond individual personalities.
“We’re building a platform where values matter, where integrity counts, and where the people come first,” the party added in a follow-up message.
