Road To 2027: Faleke Picks APC Presidential Forms For Tinubu
The race for the 2027 presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC gathered momentum on Tuesday as the party commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms in Abuja.
The exercise marked the formal commencement of the party’s internal electoral process ahead of its presidential primaries slated for May 23.
In a significant development, the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Rt. Hon. James Faleke, picked up the nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The move is seen by party insiders as part of early mobilisation efforts for the president’s re-election bid.
Faleke, a close ally of Tinubu, was accompanied by senior officials of the party during the exercise.
The forms were presented to Faleke by members of the party’s National Working Committee, led by the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Abubakar Dalori.
Also present were the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, and other key party figures.
Among them were the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Duro Meseko; National Vice Chairman (North Central), Hon. Bawa Rijau; and the National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Aliele.
The sale of forms took place at the Continental Hotel and the Ladi Kwali International Conference Centre in Abuja, drawing party stakeholders and observers.
The event followed a brief postponement from the initial date, after which the party announced a revised timetable.
The commencement of the exercise signals the APC’s transition into full pre-election activities as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
With the presidential primaries approaching, more aspirants are expected to obtain forms in the coming days, setting the stage for what analysts predict will be a keenly contested race within the ruling party.
