Rivers Assembly Gives Fubara 7 Days To Represent 2024 Budget
The Rivers State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Martin Amaewhule, has given Governor Siminalayi Fubara a 7-day deadline to present the 2024 budget to the House.
This directive comes after House members loyal to former Governor, Nyesom Wike, held the inaugural session on Monday following a period of delay.
Meanwhile, he House led by Victor Oko-Jumbo is conducting its sessions concurrently.
Before this, Governor Fubara had submitted the budget to the opposing House, which was under the control of his loyalists, with Edison Ehie serving as the Speaker.
Ehie and the other supporters of Fubara approved the budget figures, and the governor approved the bill into legislation. He mentioned that the budget is designed to foster economic growth, ensure inclusive development, and tackle socio-economic disparities within the state.
