FG’s Witnesses To Testify Against Nnamdi Kanu Behind Camera – Court Declares

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has authorized the federal government to allow its witnesses to testify in private regarding the terrorism charges filed against the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The ruling was made on Tuesday during an ex-parte application presented by Chief Adegboyega Solomon, SAN, representing the federal government.
In his argument, Solomon emphasized the necessity of protecting the witnesses’ identities for security purposes, given that the charges against Kanu pertain to terrorism.
He requested that the witnesses’ names be kept confidential for overarching security reasons. With no objections raised by Kanu’s attorney, Kanu Agabi SAN, Justice Omotosho approved the request.
Kanu’s lawyer subsequently sought similar consideration from the federal government for the upcoming bail application for Kanu.
At the time of this report, the first witness for the federal government, identified by the code name PWAAA, has begun testifying as the government officially commenced its case against Kanu.
