FG Declares June 6 And 9 Public Holidays For Eid Al-Adha Celebrations

President Bola Tinubu’s led government has officially designated Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced this on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement released on Monday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah, both domestically and abroad, on this significant occasion.
He urged the Muslim community to continue embracing the values of sacrifice and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to take this time to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
He reassured Nigerians that “the reforms and initiatives focused on the welfare of the people, undertaken in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s Administration, aim to guide Nigeria back towards progress.”
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid Al-Adha celebration, the Minister urged all Nigerians to join hands with the present administration in its efforts to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great nation.
