BREAKING: Court Slams N10million Bail Each On 10 EndBadGovernance Protesters
The Federal High Court in Abuja has set bail at N10 million for each of the ten individuals involved in the #Endbadgovernance protests, who are accused of attempting to overthrow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the period from July 1 to August 4 of this year.
Justice Emeka Nwite granted bail while ruling on their applications.
Each protester is required to provide one surety in the same amount, with the stipulation that the sureties must reside in Abuja.
Furthermore, the sureties are required to be property owners in the city and must submit property documents to the court, along with an affidavit of means.
Additionally, both the defendants and their sureties are mandated to surrender their international passports and provide three recent passport photographs to the court.
Justice Nwite dismissed the objections raised by the Inspector General of Police regarding the bail applications and instructed the defendants to refrain from participating in any public rallies during the course of their trial.
Until the bail conditions are fulfilled, the Judge has ordered that the defendants remain in prison custody.
