PDP Sends Warning To FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike
The internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a new turn as the party leadership sent a note of warning to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
PDP, in a statement issued on Monday, stated that the former Governor of Rivers State is not superior to the party.
This statement was made on Monday during a press conference held in Abuja by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.
The assertion comes in response to Wike’s remarks made in Port Harcourt on Saturday, where he cautioned PDP governors against meddling in the party’s affairs in Rivers State and threatened to “ignite turmoil in their states.”
The former Governor of Rivers State claimed that no one could usurp the PDP’s structure in the state from him.
In reaction to Wike’s statements, the PDP spokesperson underscored the party’s authority.
He said: “What I can tell you is that nobody is above this party. It is the People’s Democratic Party.

“What we have done is set up bodies (reconciliation and disciplinary committees) and given them the mandate to do the job. We will wait for their report.”
The PDP chieftain also said Wike’s remark was directed at the governors, who would respond to it in their own time.
Meanwhile, the party’s leadership has called upon the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to address allegations of anti-party conduct.
Wike is required to present himself before the PDP’s disciplinary committee.
This information was revealed on Monday by Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, during an interview with Channels TV.
He indicated that a formal letter has been dispatched to the former Governor of Rivers State, requesting his appearance before the party’s disciplinary body.
Abdullahi further stated that Wike’s remarks regarding “putting fire in their states” in relation to PDP governors are deemed unacceptable.
